ACROSTIC-TANKA POETRY
OTHER POEMS: HAIKU - VOL. I

This section contains all my other poems written in the traditional haiku style but with some slight changes in structure as the original form usually contains three lines only.

The father of haiku is Matsuo Basho, the Japanese wanderer-poet with a strong knowledge of Chinese classical poetry. Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines only . The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables (5 - 7- 5). The lines rarely rhyme and covers topics about nature, love, plants and animals. The best example of a haiku is using it in a riddle with your audience guessing the answer.
Forever Changing Seasons

buds peep from the ground
waking up from long hiatus
two hearts beat as one.

fiery golden rays
kissing the glistening crests
ignite mortal souls

sea of golden hues
drifting with the passing wind
sorrows left behind

fluffy as cotton
embracing the mountain sides
love is all we got
