Macrine, David's wife is a native of Boac, Marinduque. She  went to high school with nuns in Boac and finished BS Commerce at University of Santo Tomas, the oldest existing university in the Philippines  with 2 yrs. in University of the Philippines.

Despite her fondness for chit chat, Macrine is a bit of a book worm and likes nothing more than a night in with a good book.

David is a retired (Chemistry Team Leader from USFDA) Filipino-American who loves writing, gardening and photography. He and his wife, Macrine  (of 54 years) enjoy their snowbird lifestyle between the US and the Philippines. They have a small but very private beach resort in the beautiful island of Marinduque, Philippines.

David has six blog sites, a personal blog, blogs about Marinduque and their beach resort and conference center--CHATEAU DU MER. He also writes for http://pu.blish.us.com ...

Chateau Du Mer is a beach resort with a beach house and conference Hall. The beach house could now accommodate 12 guests, six in the main floor and six in the first floor (air-conditioned rooms). In addition, you can now reserve your vacation dates ahead and pay the rental fees via PayPal. We hope to see you soon in Marinduque--home of the Moriones and Heart of the Philippines.

About Chateau du Mer

CLIMATE/WEATHER/MORIONES FESTIVAL

The Philippines has two pronounced seasons, wet and dry. Here at the beach resort we have three due to the proximity of the beach house to the ocean. Ocean breezes modify the season into three as follows:

From December to February: Dry and cool
From March to May: Dry and Hot
From June to October: Wet/Rainy
November Falls between Wet and Dry

So, the best time to visit us is between December and February
Easter week turns Boac, Marinduque into a big city complete with lot of tourists, noise and traffic congestions due to the Moriones Festival.

For detail information on the Moriones Festival, visit the website

Marinduque is a heartshape island about 170 Km southeast of Manila. It is geographically located in the center of the Philippine archipelago, so oftentimes, it is called the "Heart of the Philippines". The residents of the islands are among the friendliest of Filipinos and are noted for their hospitality. It is the only province with a custom called "Putong." Guests, friends and first-timers to the island are welcome with singing and dancing. They are crowned and showered with flowers. They are also showered with coins to bring them good luck, good health, long life and God's blessing.
